Having missed out on both the Great British Beer Festival and the Great American Beer Festival this year, I have the chance to go to the word’s third largest beer festival after these two. This turns out to be in my homecountry, good old Sweden; Stockholm Beer & Whisky Festival, which takes place 24-26 September and 1-3 October. Now for the 24th year running, that’s quite something!
The festival will be attended by a long list of international exhibitors, breweries, magazines, industry experts and of course many thirsty and curious visitors (over 37,000 last year!) who can try the wide range of drinks in the exhibition halls and bars. There is also the chance to take part in master classes and tasting sessions with for instance Chimay, Anchor Brewing, Oskar Blues Brewery, Siren Craft Beer, Innis & Gunn, Garage Project, BrewDog, Mikkeller, Sierra Nevada Brewing, Founders Brewing Company, and Brooklyn Brewery.
Not to forget also the prestigous competitions Best Festival Beer, Best Festival Cider and Best Festival Whisky. Last year’s winners in the beer categories include breweries such as Nøgne Ø, BrewDog, To Øl, Mikkeller, Palm Breweries, Dogfish Head, Port Brewing Company, and Brutal Brewing.
Very much looking forward to meeting these brewers – and this year’s winners!
